Open source simulator pedals using 100% 3D printed parts + Xbox one controller
This may be the design I am most proud of so far, it creates a functional set of pedals for a simulation game using something most gamers already own.
STILL IN PROGRESS

Each pedal needs an axis
Since each pedal must be able to vary input for throttle, brake, and clutch, I needed to translate that input to three separate controller axis. That became each trigger, and one joystick.
Each pedal can use up to 3 springs and 3 rubber bands to allow variation of pedal stiffness.

Snap-together build
With accessibility being at the core of my design, I wanted to completely stray away from any hardware. This means that the pieces all snap together as a tight fit with channels and indents. They also all fit on one build tray 220x220mm.

Compliant mechanisms are awesome
Accessibility in mind again, I opted to make the pedal springs printable as well (plus optional rubber band mounting points).
I had varying success in my design variations, but the photographed spring below has nearly 10 hours of playtime on it. Look closely to view the white plastic fatigue appearing.
